Paris is a capital rich in relics of French history. If you want to admire them without a hitch, treat yourself to an unforgettable cruise on the Seine. The banks of the Parisian river are dotted with numerous historic monuments, and don’t miss the chance to admire them from the water!

From the Eiffel Tower to the hôtel national des Invalides

Tour Eiffel, monument en bord de Seine

To discover Paris from a different angle, treat yourself to a cruise on the Seine, lined with its symbolic quays. A disconcerting activity where you can admire France’s most beautiful monuments from a boat. All accompanied by a glass of champagne or a sweet treat (if required). From the very first moment of your cruise, starting in the 7th arrondissement, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, you’ll have the chance to catch a glimpse of this Iron Lady from above. Over 324 metres high, it is a historic landmark of the capital. At the same time, you’ll be able to see the Trocadero esplanade in the distance.

During your cruise, you can admire the Grand Palais, located on the Champs-Elysées. This historic monument hosts a variety of artistic events throughout the year. You can take full advantage of large-scale exhibitions by renowned artists such as Picasso, Renoir and others. Although it was built in the 1900s, the Grand Palais remains as modern as ever thanks to its architecture combining glass, steel and stone. History buffs won’t want to miss the chance to find out more about the greatest artists of past centuries, thanks to a host of exhibitions featuring contemporary works of art. On the other side of the river is the Hôtel des Invalides, recognisable by its dome designed by the artists of Louis XIV.

Don’t miss the chance to walk under the Pont Alexandre III, one of the most famous bridges in Paris. Located in front of the Concorde Bridge, this arch takes you back to the Belle Époque, with its bronze-topped pylons and cast-iron lampposts.

From the Musée d’Orsay to Notre-Dame de Paris

Make way for the museums! The Musée d’Orsay, housed in the heart of the old Orsay station, is just as attractive by day as it is by night (if you decide to take an aperitif cruise)! On the other side of the river, you’ll find the famous Louvre Museum. With its glass pyramid, its facades are a reminder of the time when it housed the kings of France and its fabulous collection of works of art.

On the Ile de la Cité, you’ll see the Conciergerie, with its medieval fortress look. A vestige of the old Palais de la Cité, it was the seat of power for the kings of France in previous centuries, before being converted into a prison at the end of the 14th century. A few metres further on is the famous Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral. This angle is ideal for magnificent photos of one of the capital’s most beautiful buildings. Its incredible stained glass windows and petrified gargoyles add to its charm. This masterpiece will bring your outward journey along the Seine to a close. The return journey will give you another opportunity to capture all this architecture in photographs.
